Article (คำนำหน้านาม) = คำที่ใช้วางหน้าคำนาม เพื่อบ่งชี้ว่าคำนามนั้นเป็นเอกพจน์หรือพหูพจน์ รวมถึงบ่งชี้ว่าคำนามนั้นชี้เฉพาะหรือไม่2 ประเภท : Indefinite Articles (a / an ) และ Definite Article (the )
1. Indefinite Articles a an — ใช้นำหน้าคำนามที่ยังไม่ระบุเฉพาะ มีความหมายว่า "หนึ่ง"
ใช้ได้กับคำนามนับได้เอกพจน์เท่านั้น

ไม่ต้องใช้ article (No Article) — กรณีที่ต้องวางว่างไว้ (–):1. คำนามนับไม่ได้ หรือคำนามพหูพจน์ที่ไม่ระบุเฉพาะWater is necessary for life. / Dogs are loyal animals. 2. ชื่อวิชาและภาษา We study Chinese two times a week. 3. ชื่อกีฬา John usually plays basketball with his friends after class. 4. ชื่อมื้ออาหาร (breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper)Our family always has breakfast at 7 o'clock. 5. ชื่อฤดูกาล เทศกาล วันหยุด Winter is the suitable time for skiing. 6. สำนวนที่ไม่ใช้ article เช่น go to school / go to bed / go to church / go home / be at home
